Direct terms
Seller. Daniel Fisher trading as PrintScout. Service and correspondence address: 7 birch ride, Bracknell, RG42 4GJ. Email: hello@printscout.co.uk.
Who we are. PrintScout Direct is our own print sourcing service. PrintScout is not VAT registered: we add no VAT and do not issue VAT invoices.
How Direct differs from our comparison site. On our comparison pages you contract with the independent printer. With Direct, you buy from us: we arrange production with one of our print partners and we are responsible to you for the order.
Requests, estimates and quotes. Requesting a quote is free and nonbinding, not a purchase. Indicative printing estimates are not guaranteed offers: they do not confirm delivery, availability or price validity. Our written quote will specify the goods, final all-in amount including delivery and any other charges, delivery arrangements, any expiry, applicable cancellation rights and these terms before you decide. A contract forms only when you explicitly accept that quote under these terms and we confirm acceptance in writing. We provide a written record you can keep.
Delivery. We welcome enquiries from across the UK; an enquiry does not guarantee delivery availability. Before issuing a final all-inclusive quote, we manually check the print partner's current costs and delivery availability, charges and timing for your postcode and requested service. Some areas, multiple addresses and timed deliveries cost extra. Dates are estimates unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Artwork. You are responsible for the content, spelling and rights in your artwork. We may share your files and job specification with the print partner producing your order. We won't share your contact details with print partners unless needed for delivery.
Who can buy. PrintScout Direct welcomes both members of the public and businesses. Some legal rights apply only to consumers; nothing in these terms removes or limits a consumer's statutory rights.
Cancellations and refunds. Email hello@printscout.co.uk or write to our service address to cancel, identifying your quote or order. For consumer distance sales of generic, non-personalised stock goods, you normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to notify us of cancellation, then 14 days to return them. We refund the goods and standard outbound delivery within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence of return, whichever is earlier, using the original payment method unless agreed otherwise. Any return costs payable by you and permitted deduction for handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods must be explained before purchase. Goods genuinely made to your specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. We explain any applicable exemption before acceptance; printing, choosing standard options or starting production alone does not establish an exemption. There is no blanket no-refunds policy.
Complaints and faulty goods. Contact hello@printscout.co.uk or our service address if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described. Include your order reference and photos if available. Prompt reporting helps investigation but there is no arbitrary complaint cutoff. Consumer statutory remedies, including applicable rejection, repair, replacement or refund rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, are preserved even for personalised goods. We remain responsible as seller; we do not require you to pursue our print partner instead.
Payment and production. No payment is collected when you enquire. After you explicitly accept a validated final written quote and we confirm acceptance in writing, we separately send a manually created Stripe Payment Link for the exact full quoted GBP total, payable upfront. Links are specific to an accepted quote and are never published on the generic site. There is no public online card checkout or automatic supplier ordering. Acceptance, a redirect or an email alone is not evidence of payment: we verify that payment succeeded in Stripe and matches the quote's amount, currency and reference before manually purchasing from Route1Print, after artwork checks.
Privacy: PrintScout Direct
For Direct requests we collect your name, email, optional phone and company, delivery postcode and job details to prepare and send your quote. We share the job specification (not your contact details) with print partners to get prices. Full delivery addresses are only requested after you accept a quote.
If you accept a quote, we share the necessary job details and artwork with the trade printer chosen to make your order, and delivery details with them or their courier only as needed to deliver it. We don't use your details for marketing.
If you choose to pay an accepted quote, Stripe processes your payment and associated payment details under its privacy notice. We use the payment reference, amount and status to verify payment and maintain necessary order and accounting records; we do not collect your card details through our enquiry form.
We use enquiry details to take steps at your request before a contract and, if you order, to fulfil that contract. Paid-order accounting records are kept to meet legal obligations; proportionate records may also be needed for legitimate interests in handling complaints and legal claims. Contact hello@printscout.co.uk to ask about your data or exercise your rights, including access, correction and deletion where applicable. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. See our main privacy notice for your rights and service providers.

Retention. Unsuccessful or non-converted Direct enquiries are retained for 12 months after closure. Only necessary accounting and claims paperwork for completed/paid orders is retained for 6 years after order completion. Documented legal holds or longer statutory obligations may require relevant records to be kept longer; these exceptions must be documented and reviewed. This does not mean keeping artwork or all delivery details for 6 years: artwork and delivery extras are minimised and deleted when no longer needed. These are our approved retention periods, not a claim that automatic deletion is running.
